Control of chemical processes in nanoscale materials

The IAPC investigates chemical processes in nanoscale materials consisting of nanoparticles and thin molecular layers deposited on solid surfaces. The chemical properties of these structures (reactivity or composition) are controlled by interactions between the components or through modifications incurred by physical tools such as electron beams or plasmas.

Our studies seek to unravel fundamental mechanisms that govern chemical reactions in nanoscale materials with implications for fields such as catalysis, lithography, or novel coatings.
